Roger you are a guitar GOD! You once saw me play at Baldys tavern in Puyallup,Wash. I still play but live in L.A. you should play here. Say hi to Randy Hansen for me. Chow! |
Since my last message I remembered one of the most influential "tips" I ever read. It was in a guitar magazine a few years ago. You spoke of -- "Meaning, Accuracy, Simplicity, and Timing. MAST." Thx again. This message has resonated with me through the years, not only in playing guitar, but in living life. (Wow, I'm so serious. Hope it wasn't really a joke.) Rese |
Just wanted to say I finally sent out the money to get the Clever Bastards album! I cannot wait until it arrives! Really wish you guys could come to the east side to perform (Like Cleveland!). By the way, I know it's Steve's birthday so if Steve ever checks this-Happy Birthday! ------------ Jessica, Believe me...it is thoroughly our plan to play in Cleveland - and every other major city on this stinkin' continent! Without major record company support, it's going to take people like you quackin' about us, plus a lot of hard work, to make it happen. WE'RE BUSY DOING THE HARD WORK! Let us know what you think of the album. :) Steve had a great birthday. My wife and I took Foz and his wife out to dinner. Mike Curley and his wife joined us. Cheers, RF |
Mr. Fisher, A friend on myspace "Jessica" told me of your page here. Wow, I can't believe I didn't do an internet search for you myself. There are 7 guitarists I feel were and will always be the "best" to me. Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Robin Trower, Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi, Nick Geraldo, and Roger Fisher. They didn't overplay. They didn't underplay. When I grow up (i'm probably older than u) i want to play just like u. Regards, Rese ------------ Rese, Whenever I hear comments like yours from various people I feel very honored to be held in such high esteem. I am aware I have something unique to offer through my musical expression and I live and breathe the opportunity to do so. I just got off the phone with someone who was asking about my Jimmy Page influence. I told him that, yes, Jimmy was and is a major influence, but I was actually using a theremin and violin bow onstage before I knew Jimmy Page existed. Interesting parallels! RF |
Roger -- great to see you last weekend guesting with Frank Hannon and the guys from moe. It was, without a doubt, the biggest surprise I've encoutered at a moe. show and I've seen a few... StAl ------------ StAl It was an honor and a pleasure to jam with such fine musicians! Moe are all real nice guys, obviously dedicated to their craft. Frank Hannon, my long time buddy from Tesla is a joy to play with, so we had a blast! Glad you enjoyed it. RF |
Hey Roger, just wanted to say you were my first rock concert back in June 1978. I was a HUGE fan! Must admit I havent kept up with you much since then but glad to see youre doing good! I plan on buying your cd's ------------ Mike, With a name like Blackmore, you must be a guitarist-appreciator! I've had many people over the years tell me Heart was the first concert they'd seen. That makes me glad, because Heart was the real deal. We lived and breathed music, and were in it for the right reasons. At the time we were touring with the original lineup, we were definitely one of the most well-run operations on the road. I remember Boston's first-ever live gigs. They opened for us, and they were anything but polished. I think they learned a lot by seeing our well-oiled machine. RF |
Szervusz Roger, Vartorony elkeszites gyonyoru zene! Erika ------------ Thank you, Erika...I appreciate that. (For those of you who don't speak Hungarian, it translates to, "Keep making beautiful music.") By the way, if you or anyone who reads this would care to help Clever Bastards, we're looking for people who can translate specific text to other languages. Please contact me if you can help. RF |
Hey, Saw you last night guesting with Tesla. Too cool! ------------ Dave, Aren't Tesla a great band? I have so much respect for them. It's a major challenge keeping a touring rock group together and sharp. These guys are pulling it off while remaining friends and working smoothly together. Great guys! RF |
Hiya Roger, it was great spending time with you at the "Premier" club and also at Tracy's wedding. Sorry Sarah and I didnt make it for the meal at your place,we just ran out of time but thank Eva for the invite and hopefully we can make it next time we are over visiting the family. Say "Hi" to the other member's of the CBs for me, the DVD you gave me works over here in the UK so I can show the rest of the family how the groups doing. Take care and keep on rocking!!! Best wishes Paddy n Sarah ------------ Paddy, It was really fun hangin' out with you and Sarah! You're a Brit with quick wit...I like it! Looking forward to seeing you when we tour Europe (hopefully in June). RF |
Hi Roger! I'm a massive Heart fan and a huge fan of yourself too. Just recently came across this website after being told about it and it's great. I love the new album! Will you ever come over to the U.K. for some gigs? I hope so. I'll keep my eyes and ears open till then! Rashid ------------ Rashid, Glad you like the Cb album! Yes, we're very eager to come to the UK, especially since our lead singer, Mike Curley is from Birmingham. We're looking for any help we can get in Europe - getting magazine reviews and/or interviews; radio airplay...anything that can help us get over and tour over there. We'd like to be in Germany in June to be at the World Cup. RF |
Hi Roger, Hoping to make it to the Premier Club tomorrow night! Sounds like you're getting good review on your new CD can't wait to listen for myself. Been a long time since we've seen you and hope to Friday night. Michele and Kylie |
Hi Roger! Just checkin' in! How's it going? I'd love to see ya'll make it out here for a gig. Any Chance of that happening? I will be in Seattle in a few months for a visit. I'll give you a haller! Say hello to your wife- I bet lil' Roggy is getting so big! Cheers! Btw, your dog in the backround looks like our Lab here--great dogs!! |
Hey Rog, It was great to see you at the Gorge. It sounded really good, I love the CD. Thank you very much. One of the Styx fans did a great write up on CB and posted the link to this site on the Styx board. She got some good pics too. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Dale |
| Clever Bastards is the best album that I've heard come out of Seattle in the last 15 years. I'm particularity fond of the production techniques that compliment the exceptional work of mandolin/guitarist Roger Fisher. His polished work stands out considerably. My god, where's he been hiding all these years. Also, the distinctive drum rolls and snare tuning are vintage Mike Derosier. "The Great Unconformity" is one fine album. Phillip Rauls |
| When's the reunion? Can you'all put your egos aside and just get together and have fun?? The people are waiting. You guys were great together. How about making it happen again. |
| Hey man ! Got the CB CD ! Listen to it on the way to work driving in the dark for 75 miles across the planet with no traffic tune'n out. Great recordings and tones on all instruments. Like it alot. My favorite tracks are 11 through 13 ! I play them the most. Anyways, Great stuff guys ! Just droppin in to tell you and anyone else that. Tell everyone I said hi ! Thanks ! L8R , Gary |
Hi Roger! I must admit that I am a little bit drunk now cause I had a nice listening and beer drinking evening today. So we listened to the "Clever Bastards" album. I knew it since a few days (I purchased it from CDbaby), but my friends were astonished, amazed, etc. to hear great music from a "nowadays band". Just wanted to say thank you for your music and please keep on rocking! Steve |
Rog, Glad to hear Hempfest was such a success for CB! I just listened to some of CB tracks on your site, and wow does Mike C. have a scratchy & sexy voice, loved it and now I love him, ha-ha-ha JK!! Liked Mike D. lead in on the cymbals on "Crazy" nice! Loved the guitars and drums on "Big City" - beautiful! From start to finish the drums & guitar rock in "Never Too Late"! Loved Mike D. drumming in "Master" I love it when he plays deep, hard and loud!!! "Heaven to me" absolutely beautiful. The start of “Ghost” with the acoustic guitars and cymbals had that Mistrial Wind sound/feel but then goes in a completely different direction which was fab!! BTW: Mistrial Wind/Heart has always been one of my favs by you guys, starts out soft and dreamy and then just rocks out, with your incredible guitar licks and Mikes drumming it still knocks me out to this day, oh and the lyrics have always hit me deep. Hope to hear you guys live soon. Love to all, Rona |
Hey, Rog...I sure do LOVE that Clever Bastards cd!! I was so bummed to miss the Hempfest gig, but am really looking forward to the GORGE show on September 17th!! ROCK ON!! ~Lori (aka TongueLady) |

Hey Roger and the Boys, It was great watching Clever Bastards perform at Hempfest 2005. AWESOME LIVE BAND! Enjoyed the "Ghosts" song. It was nice chatting with you, Mike & the boys after your set. Hopefully Clever Bastards will be playing at the Premier real soon! Until Next Time, Cheers :) Marianne |
Saw you at Hemp fest.....YOu stole the whole day. I am a world music player...I mean straight up african/latin/funk/raggae/. But you all just took the day. I am a drummer, but your bass player blew me away, the groove lines he played were seriously deep. Where's the CD? When are you playing again? |
| Hey Rog...It's been a long time (about 6 yrs now). Just happened to come across your site and am excited to listen to the demos from Clever Bastards you have posted...I have all the Reigning Sun songs on my MP3 player and listen to them periodically (I'm probably the only one!!!). Anyhow, drop me a line sometime and tell Mike (and Gino if you are still in communication with him) hello for me...Best wishes. TJ |
| Hey Rog! Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of the great music throughout the decades (you and the rest of Heart made my younger years, not to mention my chronic depression and anxiety, somehow bearable) and for being an exceptionally nice guy as well. Can't wait to hear your latest CD! If you ever play this area, I will most certainly be there (with my air guitar in tow)! My very best to you, your wife and your entire family. Much love, Christine |
| ROGER, thank you for all the great music you have made and been a part of. every time i play your music i am quickly put into a better mood. thanks so much, your music is as good as could ever be. i have always admired your guitar abilities. you have your own sound and it is unique. there are not words to say thank you , i play your tunes weekly. i live in suburban detroit and i am an electrician by trade. you surely know detroit is a rock and roll town. if you ever play in detroit, that would be great. i hope you guys from heart are all still close. well, i will close and say again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. BEST OF LUCK, ROGER. paul schuch. |

Rog's guitar playing at some of his finest, and the rest of Cb sounds incredible!!!Mike still is the GOD of thunder,Lynn has the most original sounding bass licks in the buisness and Mike Curley has the most distinctive voice you've ever heard...simply grand!! My favorites are "Shadows of brook lane" and "Never too late" The mix is great and the songs are AWESOME! and what a wonderful way to introduce Mike Curley to the world as a major international artist! so nice job guys!!! I'm so glad my mom was able to talk to the North Slope owner and talk him into making an exception to the age limit so I could get in to see you guys on Friday! I had such a great time and my mom enjoyed herself too. You guys really have a good connection going on there. And I must say, I really love your guitar faces. You're always either smiling really big or you look so focused and concentrated. That's nice to see (: Thanks so much (to you, Mike, Steve, and Geoffrey) for takin the time to chat and for signing my Dreamboat Annie cd after your soundcheck on Thursday! Meeting and watching you guys play was like, the highlight of my life! Definitely something I'll never forget! Can't wait 'til next time you're up here. And at the show, I got some of your solo cds, and I just listened to Evolution- very rocksome. I like it (: Keep rockin! |

Hallo Roger! I hear from my brother, Gunnar, that you have plans for visiting Norway this summer. If you will see some more of the country, and your norwegian side of the family, you are welcome to visit me and my folks in Bergen. I am a couple of years younger than you, and have been playing drums in different bands since the -70s. Presently with a country-rock band. This have been a dear hobby for me in many years, but for a living I am working i a insurance company. If it suits with your other plans, it would be nice to meet you, and maybee have some fun with the band. Steinar |
OK Rog, I know you need some smiles these days so here it goes. Mike used to own a house in Kent, that Howard later bought.(i think i goes that way) My gal pals and I used to sneak up to the lower bathroom window and look at the gold records on the wall in the next room. We never went further, we were so scared. One day however, Howard caught us and asked us what we were doing, we told him we were looking for our lost dog. Sad thing is the dog had died a couple of weeks earlier. I know this sounds like stocking, but now I am in the music arena and would freak if I knew someone was doing that to me. Have been a Heart and Rog fan for almost as long as I can remember. Saw you guys at the old "Spaggetti Barn" w/my parents. Well enough of that old crud. Thanks for all you do to make life just a little easier. God bless you and Eva and your family. |
HI Rog, Sorry to hear about your wife, You both are in my thoughts.. All of you hang in there..:) With Love, HeidiXX |

Hey Roger, I want you to know how gratefull i, and jason are for the time you spent with us. It was fun to be so green yet feel part of the bigger trees, lol. You made recording fell fluid and effortless, which was just what two rappin white guys needed. The times we recorded solidified my commitment to music education. Your examples of giving through musical education is a deep level of the human care and compassion for all things that i wish more artist in our style of music could feel. thanks for keepin it real. DOOMDIGI LEGION OF BOOM P.S. IM SENDING YOU AN MP3 (ENJOY) |
Hey Rog, Long time! Loved the new pictures on your site! I'm really interested in hearing the new band you guys put together. What's all this hype I'm reading on here regarding VH1 and posting something on you or the new band on their site? I am still in touch with a good friend of mine from when I worked at MTV in the early 80's, he was MTV Network's Senior VP then. He's working on a new project called "The Tube Music Network", check out www.thetubetv.com, If it could help, I'd be happy to drop him a line on your behalf. All's well here, Rachael just had her 6 month check up, and all is clear and healthy, thank god!!! Whitney is 18, a knockout, struggling to find her place in this world. Put my house on the market and moving to New Hampshire, the seacoast area, so beautiful, reminds me a little of the NW minus the mountains. Hope you, Eva and all your children are happy and healthy. I send hugs and kisses to you and Mike. As always, all my best, Rona x0x0x0x0 |

Hey Roger! im 13 and a huge heart fan. ever since last year. last year i tried to commit suicide. im a huge classic rock fan and i always listen to 106.1 classic rock. one day when i was about ready to pop over 50 ibuprofen. then someting happened. love alive came over the radio. it was so beautiful. it made me stop. i had already swallowed alot of pills so i threw them up in the bathroom. that song saved me. i never thought i would be this big of a heart fan. now i cant stop listening to them! i guess i gotta thankyou for some of this. u inspired me to pick up my rusty guitar and start to play again! i saw a heart concert last year and i got bebe le strange signed by ann and nancy. they look and sound great but i wish u were still in the band!my friend mandy and i were even ann and nancy for halloween! my friend matt was gonna be u and his brother was gonna be mike but they couldnt come at the last minute! u guys rock my sox! and thanks for everything!!!~diana |

Seems every couple of months you would show up in Vernon or a city close to there. I must have been 17 or 18 then and us local kids would all pile into the local rich-kids car and head out to see Heart. Snow never stoped us from getting to the show - Tickets at the door - and if a couple of us were shy the 7 er 8 bucks to get in a nice bandmember or staff would let us in the side door. It was most memorable when in between sets the band would mingle with all us kids out on the floor. Those were the best years of my life and I thank all of Heart for being so together with the audiance. Well the years move on and I still can't afford tickets to a free lunch. I had a nice chat with Michael Derosier In Vancouver B.C. one night when he was doing a gig with "September". Think it was at The Windmill Caberet. Anyway. Thanks for all the entertainment from all band members throughout the years. Peace. Darrell Edwards Canada |

Hi Rog, Remember me? It's been a long time. I miss taking guitar lessons from you, it was alot of fun. I hope I can catch one of your shows, in the near future. Take care and best wishes, Lorrie |
| Hello Roger! What a pleasure to find you after all these years! You were a huge influence on my playing and ear, and that influence was only bolstered after seeing Heart at the Lakeland Civic Center 2/11/79. Your stagemanship and playing still reverberate to this day, and was one of the best rock shows I have seen. Your M.A.S.T. theory as an approach to your playing also was a huge influence. I lost interest in Heart after your departure and never knew the reasons behind the rift until seeing the VH-1 BTM special. Old history ... you have moved on and done well. I am in Seattle often on business and will look for updates on your website so maybe I can catch one of your shows. Best of luck, keep chasing the Muse, and thanks for the music! |

Never ask when it smells of excellence, for the sheer light of aarogance shines through the fear of dark. And although only a cloak, worn correctly with honour and grace, will keep you warm on your journey home. Piece (Just a little !) & Most of all night switches |

Happy Birthday Roger! Keep on rocking. John |
| Happy 55th Birthday Roger!! Happy St. Valentine's Day! Hope your day is great! |

Anyone see the new Subway sandwich commercial? "More Than Words Can Say" is on the radio in the car when the 2 cops roll up. |
| WELOVE AND MISS YOU ROG, I HOPE I HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE TO SEE YOU AGAIN.YOUR FAN AND FRIEND, THRESA A BROWNFIELD |
| Rog, your new site looks great! Just visiting to see where I might renew the link from my site to yours. Your photos of us performing together at EMP's Liquid Lounge seem a likely spot. (But I gotta learn to look prettier when I sing -- the photos in February's JAZZ PROFILE Magazine are better, though not the cover treatment; what do you think?) I've posted my favorite pic of you, from Don Wilson's party. Look on our Calendar, on February 14th. Happy birthday! Again, I'm impressed with the content and easy navigation of your site; from that first photo -- incredible crowd scene. (People thought The Fleetwoods singing to 109,000 fans in the rain was fantastic, and I see you've played to 300,000 in the sun! Excellent photos; yet none but mine shows you as young, handsome and vital as you are today (probably due to your beautiful young wife -- Hi, Eva)! I loved the day your whole family spent with mine, in Olympia; complete with Willow, frolicking on the beach. What a sweet dog -- appropriately immortalized here in the Guestbook, ready to give everyone a welcoming, warm lick on the cheek. Love, Gretchen (Hope you'll link up to your birthday/pic and "Come Softly To Me" @ GretchenChristopher.com) |

Hey Rog! I just though I would say hi since I am in the neighborhood. I wish I could have seen you with Alan White and John Popper. Man, what a show I bet that was. Awesome! All the best, Jack Gold |
Your leads are unlike anyone elses, pure inspiration! I saw you at the Texas World Music Festival in 1979 Cotton Bowl, Dallas....man what a show! Now I am just an old fart (43) doing tech support for Digitech, playing cover tunes, and partying with John Wilkinson, who used to play for Elvis.... |
| Interesting. |

Howdy Roger, Enjoyed meeting you at NAMM, hope you and your family had a wonderful time staying warm in LA. Wish I could have spent more time at NAMM but needed to complete an episode. Would like to hear some music with you and Rick sometime. Rick did a great job on my Floyd Rose and enjoyed meeting him face to face. Warmest Regards, Gregory Hinde |
| Hey I was at the Tsunami concert on Friday the 28th of Janurary I had a great time and hope that there will be other cocerts to help the people of need. Let me know if there ever is a auction I would love to donate a drum that I make to help. Thanks Gary DeZarn http://www.geocities.com/drumfiire2002/drums.html |

| Long Time Rog Fan - Something about your guitarmanship still amazes me - your style allowed me to feel every note. I found your site through a Heart Monger Fan (Phoenix's Heart) and its nice to see what's going on with your life, work & art - I hope in the new future you start performing again and if you are ever in San Francisico (where my sister lives) or ever in Cleveland I hope you post the details on your email as well - Would love to check it out !! |

Hello Roger, Your band sounded great! I'm looking forward to hearing it again soon. Thanks for that "sweeping off my feet hug" on New Year's, I haven't forgot it since. By the way, are you Italian? Have a Wonderful Day. Carol |

I just thought I would let you know what a HUGE influence you were on my early guitar playing and musicallity. I saw Heart (the first of many, many times) at the Corbett Center Ballroom at NMSU in 1976 I think it was. I was so blown away with the wall of white Marshalls and your playing. Thanks for the huge leg up into the playing world and I'm very glad to see you are still 'workin it' after all this time. Heart was NEVER the same without you, and I became much less enthused about them when you left. But the power of the sisters gravity still held me even during their 'corporate' years. Oh yeah, I was in my seat with my girlfriend at the Dog and Butterfly tour, when it was cancelled and I was crushed. As a seasoned road veteran, I understand now how these things happen. Much love to you and yours and thanks for all your wonderful music. Respectfully, Zane Evans |
| Great Job at Firstnight in Tacoma!! If the rain would have held off until midnight that would have made my evening. I have to catch Geoffrey Castle in doors next time. Rock on guys. Regan Lane was at the Sota stage. Wasn't he in strypes with Steve Fossen? |
