It began in September of 2001 when a "Brit with wit, but no hit" named Mike Curley came in to Mars Recording Studio with hopes to record some of his original songs. While discussing how best to record him, Roger asked Mike to play and sing a bit. Rog was caught off guard. "Mike's ability to pull you in emotionally with his voice and driving guitar showed stellar potential." He listened to a few more songs before he jokingly told Mike he couldn't record at Mars. "Let's start a band!"

Roger and Rick had been talking about putting a band together for months. Mike Curley walking into Mars Studio at that point was the perfect element at the perfect time. They began working together and roughly recorded three songs. After being thrilled by the music, they knew it was time to secure the rest of the band. Roger, Mike and Rick attended a drum seminar with special guests Kenny Aranoff and Rog's long-time friend and Heart/Alias band mate, Michael Derosier. After listening to Mike play, he was the only drummer they wanted. They handed him the three-song CD to listen to and were very happy when he called them back to report that he liked it and wanted to play together to see if the chemistry was right. It was apparent the first night they played together that there was something special happening, and Derosier was in!

They began recording their first song, "Part of Me," and agreed that an album would follow. Everything fell into place, the chemistry was great, the dedication was there, the level of artistry was soaring and they were having fun! They auditioned a number of bass players before coming across Lynn Sorensen, a seasoned pro who had just come off the road from touring with Paul Rogers. Lynn played with a style that was perfect for their music. Lynn was the "iron fist in the velvet glove" with a nonchalance that belied his many talents, for Lynn also playes violin and viola which fit in perfectly when they began recording their second song, "All We Ever Asked For." All the elements were there.

The Big Game had Begun!

Then after being together for about 18 months they broke up. Snail's pace progress and varied pressures made it a wise decision to stop the band.

Then, 18 months later, contact was resumed, and a meeting was agreed. At the meeting they agreed to give it a shot, just to see what would happen. Each one of them knew this band was too good not to be.
